Flu Shots!

So we have decided that it is now mandatory to get a flu shot every year and advise everyone else to as well.

Sara woke up on Tuesday morning with a sore throat and didn't really think anything of it, more and more symptoms came throughout the day though.

By the end of Tuesday, which was a very long day out of the house, Sara felt terrible. Body aches, headache, sore throat, coughing and so on...

Tossing and turning all night while coughing and moaning, from the body pain, she kept Spence up all night. Finally the couch called her name! ( Yes, she was the sick one and Spencer would have given up the bed and taken the couch but she likes to have the whole house when sick so she doesn't bother him)

The symptoms worsened by the next morning so Sara called her mom to ask her what she should do. Her mom works at the doctors office that we go to so she got Sara an appointment.

The doctor was not really convinced that Sara had the flu but gave her the option to be tested. Sara figured well I am here we might as well. Also, you have to be tested in the first two to three days of symptoms to know if you have the flu.

Have you ever been tested for the flu? Okay, well it is not something you really want to experience. They take one of those long q-tips and stick over half of it up each nostril. Slightly painful and it is said that if your eyes don't water and your nose doesn't run it wasn't done right! Sara's was a success, teary eyed with a runny nose her test came back positive!

YUCK! The Flu really sucks! Sleeping on the couch the last two nights in a row and probably a third tonight is not fun.

The body and head aches stopped yesterday but last night began the puking phase! Woohoo!

Today Sara was a little quizy but feeling a bit better! Still coughing and a little achy here and there but all in all it was much better then the last two. The medicine takes a day or two to start working so hopefully that will kick in anytime now, until then she will continue to load up on that good 'ol Nyquil Cold and Flu!

The conclusion to this, to help prevent the risk of getting the flu again in years to come we will be getting the shot cause the Flu Sucks!

We hope everyone else is doing well!

Sacrament Talks!

So, we have been asked to give talks in sacrament and Sara is a little nervous to say the very least!

Only being a member for two and not having a ton of knowledge about the gospel scares her when it comes to talking in front of a ton of people. Not to mention that she has always been terrified of public speaking!

We don't have to give them until May so we have a lot of time to prepare or procrastinate and wait until last minute. Either way, it will get done.

Our talks are on hope and hapiness! If you have any advice to give it would be greatly appreciated!

Lets hope the nerves calm and we make it through this will out any anxiety attacks :)

Dryer Sheets!

Okay this might be a weird blog but I had to post it for all those people who hate dirty scummy showers but can't seem to find time to clean them!

I read on a friends blog about how she cleans her motorhome shower. With a brand new Dryer Sheet!

I was showering this morning and I guess a dryer sheet was stuck to my hubbies towel and it fell into the shower when he got out earlier this morning so, I thought I would give it a try.

Okay, my dryer sheet wasn't brand new but it still worked great. It makes the shower clean and smell good!

I think that will be my new way to clean!
Once a week I will take a dryer sheet in the shower with me and scrub away. It'll only take a minute or two, try it!
For you pleasure here are some other way to use a dryer sheet!
1. Freshen smelly shoes. Insert a dryer sheet into the offending pair and let sit overnight.
2. Remove static from clothing, hair, TV screens, and computer monitors. Wipe the surface with a sheet.
3. Clean pet hair from the floor or furniture. Rub a dryer sheet over the spot where Fluffy left her fur.
4. Replace a sachet. Keep a dresser drawer smelling fresh and clean by placing a dryer sheet on the bottom of it.
5. Loosen caked-on food from a pan. Place a fresh sheet in the bottom of a dirty pan, fill with lukewarm tap water, and let sit in the sink overnight. The pan will be easier to clean in the morning.
6. Tackle suitcase and gym-bag odors. Place a dryer sheet in your suitcase or gym bag so your clean clothes won’t take on the odors of the dirty ones.
7. Prevent old books from smelling musty when in storage. Stick a dryer sheet between the pages of your beloved copy of Pride and Prejudice.
8. Wipe up sawdust after working in the garage. Rub a dryer sheet over the fine wood particles.
9. Prevent thread from tangling when sewing. Run a threaded needle through a dryer sheet right before you begin your handiwork.
10. Dust venetian blinds. Close the blinds, then wipe up and down with a dryer sheet.
Hope you get some use out of this silly blog!
